Bald Mountain Campground is nestled at the foot of its namesake with a creek running through it. The Medicine Wheel National Historic Landmark is a short drive and 1.5-mile hike away. East of the campground is Paradise Valley, another favorite hiking area where you can view a full array of flowers in the early summer, wildlife, small waterfalls, and enjoy spectacular views of the valleys below. While you cannot bring livestock into the campground, there is a hitching rail, and loading area, right outside the gate.
Highway 14A, from Lovell, is extremely steep, a 10-percent grade and more, is winding, has several hairpin turns, and many blind corners. This is a challenging road during the summer season.
