Lower Paintrock Lake

Lower Paintrock Lake Campground is located approximately one-half mile from the Cloud Peak Wilderness and is close to 4-wheel drive roads and trail heads that lead hikers to loop trails, treks along creeks and over mountain passes. Three trout-laden lakes offer fishing and chilly swimming. Nearby is Spanish Point, home to famous Spanish agates. Though remote, this campground offers a variety of sites, recently renovated, and is well worth the rather rugged drive.
