Lakeview
Newly renovated, shaded Lakeview Campground overlooks a 325-acre Meadowlark Lake that is open to wake-less boating, canoeing, and trout fishing. Off-road vehicle trails, scenic jeep roads, hiking and additional fishing streams are available in the surrounding area as well as an abandoned fire lookout that provides the hiker with a scenic platform for the Cloud Peak Wilderness. A separate tent-only area at lakeside is quiet and secluded.
THINGS TO KNOW
Getting Here:
Highway 14A, from Lovell, is extremely steep, a 10-percent grade and more, is winding, has several hairpin turns, and many blind corners. This is a challenging road during the summer season.
Weather:
You are at high elevations here in the Bighorn Mountains. Remember to bring warming clothing for evenings as it can become chilly.
Don't Move Firewood:
Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site.

Two non-towed vehicles may be parked per site. The first vehicle is included in the basic fee; the second vehicle is charged an extra fee collected at the campground.

CLIMATE
TEMPERATURES
Spring temperatures range from 60°-70° F for the highs and 30°-45° F for the lows. Summer highs are in the 70°-80° F range with the lows reaching into the 40° F range.
RAINFALL
Most rain comes in May and June but come prepared for showers as they can happen all summer long.
SNOWFALL
Snow should be out of the mountains by early to mid May and shouldn't come around again until late September.
