Willow Park Group Area

Willow Park Group Area, situated in a shady glen by an open meadow is a group site that can accommodate up to 150 people for day-use picnicking and up to 60 people for overnight camping. No-wake Meadowlark Lake is within two miles of the campground, and just east of the lake is an abandoned fire lookout that provides the hiker with a scenic platform for views into the Cloud Peak Wilderness. Off-road vehicle trails, scenic jeep roads, hiking and additional fishing streams are also available in the surrounding area. The group area consists of several long tables, group grills and group fire ring and a double-sided new vault toilet.

THINGS TO KNOW

Getting Here:
Highway 14A, from Lovell, is extremely steep, a 10-percent grade and more, is winding, has several hairpin turns, and many blind corners. This is a challenging road during the summer season.
Weather:
You are at high elevations here in the Bighorn Mountains. Remember to bring warming clothing for evenings as it can become chilly.
Don't Move Firewood: 
Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site.

Camping Info

Extra Car Fee: $10.00

Two non-towed vehicles may be parked per site. The first vehicle is included in the basic fee; the second vehicle is charged an extra fee collected at the campground.

Firewood: $6.00/bundle

Firewood bundles can be purchased from the campground host.

CLIMATE

TEMPERATURES
Spring temperatures range from 60°-70° F for the highs and 30°-45° F for the lows. Summer highs are in the 70°-80° F range with the lows reaching into the 40° F range.
RAINFALL
Most rain comes in May and June but come prepared for showers as they can happen all summer long.
SNOWFALL
Snow should be out of the mountains by early to mid May and shouldn't come around again until late September.
